Meet my dramatic fun loving hedgie who is always a huge optimist. She's kinda like Haruhi except not QUITE as bad. I mean, she doesn't force her best friends to dress up in maid outfits XD
And YES, she's tubby. I wanted to make my hedgehog as original as possible so I tried to think of a design and traits not many other fan characters have. Sure, she's not COMPLETELY original but she's not one of those green Sonic recolours. I thought that not many people made their fan characters bigger. Why should they all be twigs? Also, I thought not many hedgies have plaited quills.
I am starting to love her. She kinda reminds myself of...a younger me. She's fun and bubbly and naive.
However, she can also be extremely annoying. And superbly talkative. She loves acting and is in "A Midwinter night's nightmare", my youtube Sonic fanfic. She runs the drama club. Even Amy finds her annoying which just tells you how bad she is |D She did get bullied for being overweight btw.... I'll make a full bio soon, I'd go on forever. ONE LAST THING: SHE'S 17.
Ok, she's kinda interested in Tails. She wants him to be her little brother so she can look after him. She doesn't like him in the romantic way. However Tails doesn't really want to be an actor in one of the plays she's put forward. He is misinterpretting signs and thinks she's trying to get him to go on a date together...he doesn't really want to audition for Grease, but who can say no to Kayleigh?
Okay, I gotta admit, when I first saw this, I thought she was a cat, that's why I asked if you had a link to her.
But as you did with me, let's talk design of her.
Color wise, it does look good, white and grey work well together, but I see you went with Amy's quill style for her with a fuzzy end look like the Werehog. The fuzzy ends isn't so bad, but copying Amy's quill design is. It just gives that lazy feel to your character, though bending them like that does prevent it from being a complete copy of hers, but its still got the same overall look to it. However, the ponytail looks good, and the braids are great looking.
The boots look good, but the dress, once again, is too close to Amy's in design with the circle around the edge of it, try adding in some lace touch to its edges insteal of just a colored ring. Maybe make it a layered dress or even give it a jagged design will make it more original. Adding some accessories to it as you suggested to me, will also help her dress stand out.
I'd suggest you don't place your character in the middle of the image, because right there she falls outside the general viewpoint lines. You never really look directly into an image, but rather follow four straights lines, two vertical and two horizontal lines about halfway towards the middle from the sides along those lines they intersect which is where our eyes tend to be drawn towards. Right now Tails in standing straight through one such line, and as such ones eyes are drawn towards him.
This might sound pervy, but its nice to a see a fan character that isn't a double D in boob size.
